Touching ground in Miami from Buenos Aires

Eddie and Tracy were disappointed they didn't get to fly through Dallas again. On the way back from Argentina, they flew through Miami. There is no Jamba Juice in Miami.

There may not be a silver castle in Miami Airport, but there are still things to be discovered although all that glitters is not gold.

Eddie and Tracy spend their last day in Argentina with a Tiger?

Actually, Eddie and Tracy were at Le Tigre. They couldn't find any tigers, but they did get a view of the river, La Plata, on a sightseeing boat and drank some fresh mango juice.

Eddie and Tracy finally get the nerve to tango

Eddie and Tracy didn't actually tango. They did attend a milonga on their last night in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Eddie and Tracy then walked to La Confiteria Ideal. Eddie was too tired to take the tango lesson there.

They did try a few steps outside though.

Eddie and Tracy visit the famous bookstore El Ateneo

Eddie and Tracy visited El Ateneo at 1860 Santa Fe Ave.  in Barrio Norte. The building was designed for Max Blucksman (1874-1946) by architects Peró and Torres Armengol. It was originally called Teatro Gran Splendid when it opened in May of 1919. The theater had a seating capacity of 1,050 and Carlos Gardel performed there.

During Glucksman's Natcional Odeón made early recording of many great tango singers. However in the late 1920s the theater became a cinema and is the site where the first sound films were screened in Argentina in 1929.

The building was converted into a book, movie and DVD store in 2000.The stage now serves as a cafe.

El Ateneo is over 100 years old, but still much younger than Eddie and Tracy.

Eddie and Tracy visited the art museum

Because they had extra time, Eddie and Tracy were able to visit the art museum in Buenos Aires (Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes).

They also visited the Teatro Colon.

Eddie and Tracy visit San Telmo.

Eddie and Tracy visited San Telmo (twice), but don't understand why people call this stuff old. They wanted to buy some art deco bookends, but the storekeeper left for lunch.

Instead of shopping, they enjoyed the local art.

Eddie and Tracy went to La Boca. They aren't much for shopping though.

Eddie and Tracy Meet Mafalda

Eddie P. Rex and Treece Sara Topolis went to San Telmo. San Telmo is an area of Buenos Aires where the Argentine cartoonist Joaquín Salvador Lavado grew up. He was born in Spain (Fuengirola, Málaga) in 1932, but his family moved to Argentina to escape the Spanish Civil War.
Known as Quino, he created the "Mafalda" comic strip which ran from 1964-1973.
